Vegan paradise? Yes, it exists! Discover the Vegan Surf Camp—a paradise on the South West coast of France

Vegan Surf Camp

A decade ago, a group of friends expanded their annual surfing gathering to a wider audience, leading to the creation of the Vegan Surf Camp. Now—12 years later, the camp offers a unique holiday experience: comfortable camping with homemade organic vegan food, surfing, yoga classes and a variety of social and ecology-based activities.

The founders—all lifelong vegans with a deep commitment to the environment, saw this small summer camp as an opportunity to introduce others to healthy, cruelty-free food while fostering reconnection with nature and each other. The camp’s motto, Gathering People’, invites everyone, regardless of background or dietary preferences, to meet like-minded individuals, form new friendships and become part of a caring community.

A perfect location: Moliets-Plage and the french atlantic coast

Vegan Surf Camp is located in Moliets-Plage, a prime spot on the South West coast of France, known for its fantastic surf locations and international atmosphere. Just 500 metres from the beach and surrounded by a beautiful pine forest, the camp provides the ideal environment for those looking to disconnect from everyday life and immerse themselves in nature.

From waking up to birdsong to falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves, the camp offers countless ways to enjoy the natural surroundings. Guests can explore the nearby nature reserve, run through the woods, or practise yoga under the trees, all while enjoying the sun, surf and peaceful atmosphere of Moliets.

Vegan cuisine: Fresh, homemade and delicious

Vegan Surf Camp

The food at Vegan Surf Camp is a major highlight. All meals are freshly prepared on-site by a skilled team with years of experience in vegan cooking. The camp aims to inspire visitors to cook more sustainably at home by offering delicious, organic and diverse meals that cater to all dietary needs, including those with allergies or special restrictions. Everyone, from seasoned vegans to curious newcomers, can enjoy healthy, nutritious and satisfying food without worry—no one is left with just the chips.

Sustainability and activism: A community of change

As a non-profit organisation, Vegan Surf Camp promotes sustainability and respect for nature. Each summer, the camp hosts activists, NGOs and eco-influencers to present their work, lead discussions on ecology and veganism, and offer cooking demonstrations. Whether it’s learning to make authentic Italian risotto or discovering how to craft vegan cheese from Instagram chefs, the camp provides a space for education and activism.

The focus on sustainability extends beyond the kitchen. Weekly beach clean-ups, upcycling workshops, and participatory science projects in collaboration with Surfrider are just a few of the ways guests can actively contribute to protecting the environment.
