Dreams of a kinder world: Visions from vegan personalities

Mr Hudson/Multyde

Dreams—whether personal or professional, are vital in shaping and enriching our lives. They provide direction, motivation and a sense of purpose.

To delve deeper into how dreams influence diverse aspects of life, VegClub spoke to 13 personalities, including celebrities, chefs, doctors, influencers and entrepreneurs—all of whom are passionate vegans. We explored their greatest dreams and how their values shape their visions for the future. From vegan MasterChef contestant Charlotte Roy to world award-winning songwriter Mr Hudson, here are some well-known people who have dreams like you (and us).

Charlotte Roy—MasterChef UK contestant

I would say that my greatest dream is to help create a world where animal exploitation is a thing of the past, as there is no rational argument to justify our current treatment of animals. Additionally, I hope to successfully veganise Ferrero Rocher without compromise.Charlotte

My greatest dream is for a vegan world. This would mean a significant reduction in animal suffering, disease, climate change and generally a kinder planet. I imagine it as a vibrant place full of life and happiness. A wonderful place to be.Lucy

Nemanja Golubovic—Founder of ‘Kale My Name’ restaurants and vegan celebrity

I have many dreams and while I don’t wish for all of them to come true, as dreaming is what keeps me motivated, my greatest dream is a vegan planet. I pray for it daily and hope to see it realised: a world where animals are free and safe, with a large sanctuary where I can spend time with chickens, cows and pigs without them ever facing cages or slaughter.Nemanja

Conor Spacey—Vegan chef and author

My greatest dream is for everyone around the world to have access to healthy, nutritious food that benefits both us and the planet.Conor

Michelle Targett—Vegan influencer and activist

My greatest dream in life is to live in a kind, compassionate world where there is no fear or cruelty towards others, whether human or animal.Michelle

Jim Naughten—International painter

My greatest dream is for biologist E.O. Wilson’s ‘Half Earth’ concept to become a reality. This would involve dedicating half of the Earth to wildlife and the natural world, restoring ecosystems and allowing the planet to thrive. It’s hard not to dream of humanity becoming plant-based and showing kindness to all living creatures. It doesn’t seem like too much to ask.Jim

Harvey Lewis—Ultra-runner and animal advocate

Keith Knipling

My greatest dream is for our society to embrace veganism as the norm, valuing not only its health and environmental benefits but also its concern for animal welfare. I hope people become more connected with their food sources, leading to healthier, happier lives in greater harmony with our planet and other species. It may sound idealistic, but there was a time when democracy seemed an unlikely experiment.”  Harvey

Alan Desmond—Plant-based nutritionist and author

My greatest dream is for the world to become comfortable discussing gut health. Everyone eats food, chews, swallows, burps, farts and poops. When things go wrong, we should feel able to talk to our loved ones and doctors about our gut health concerns.Alan

Sarah Tweed (AKA Farm Girl Goes Vegan)—Farmer’s daughter and vegan influencer

My greatest dream is to see a vegan world within my lifetime, and I’m confident that we will. I believe veganism is our best hope for the planet, our health and to end the needless exploitation of sentient beings.Sarah

Mr Hudson—Worldwide award-winning songwriter

My greatest dream is for an end to violence. Why can’t life be more like Star Trek? A diverse group of vegans in colourful onesies exploring the cosmos—and each other.Ben

Alexis Gauthier—Founder of 123V, Gauthier Soho and celebrity chef

My greatest dream is to live in a world where human ingenuity has created a reciprocal way for us to communicate with animals. I hope we can understand their needs, desires, goals and hopes. Hopefully, this will become a reality rather than just a dream.Alexis

Will Callaghan—Celebrity manager and vegan entrepreneur

Respect and compassion. No homophobia, xenophobia or racism. And less angry judgement from vegan activists. This is my greatest dream. Will

Nicole Osinga—Plant-based dietitian and TV celebrity

My greatest dream is for us to view all animals as equals. Why is it acceptable to normalise killing certain animals for food (like chickens and cows) while viewing others as pets (like cats and dogs)? I want us to grow in our collective respect for animals as living beings—not just food.Nicole

Funnily enough, their answers could have been something material or for their own benefit, but they chose to share their dream for a better world.
