Ration.L: Merging sustainability, ethical fashion and neurological health awareness
Ration.L, founded by Kavita Basi, combines sustainability and ethical fashion, offering eco-friendly products like vegan trainers and promoting neurological health awareness.
Let's start from the beginning
Ration.L—founded by Kavita Basi, emerged from a profound personal journey that began on 17th March 2015. At the age of 38, experienced a life-threatening subarachnoid haemorrhage. Previously healthy and career-oriented, her life was abruptly disrupted by a sudden seizure that resulted in nearly 2 months of hospitalisation. During this time, Kavita underwent four intensive brain surgeries, necessitating a challenging recovery that involved relearning numerous cognitive and physical skills.
Despite the overwhelming adversity, Kavita’s positivity and resilience were crucial to her rehabilitation. Supported by family and friends, she documented her recovery process, sharing her experiences to help others facing similar health challenges. This effort culminated in the publication of her book, ‘Room 23: Surviving a Brain Haemorrhage’, in 2018. Additionally, Kavita collaborated with charities dedicated to supporting individuals with neurological conditions, extending her advocacy and outreach efforts.
Driven by her passion for sustainability and social change, and influenced by her transformative health experience, Kavita sought to promote environmental consciousness alongside neurological health awareness. This vision led to the creation of Ration.L—a brand committed to sustainable living and well-being. Ration.L focuses on producing eco-friendly products designed with longevity and intent. The brand's offerings, crafted from recycled, vegan and cruelty-free materials, are packaged using biodegradable materials, reflecting Kavita’s dedication to environmental responsibility.
